Have you been down to The Inn lately?  The garden is looking good and ready for a Summer heatwave which is on the way, apparently! Ann and I have made the hanging baskets which are growing on in Mike Mandeville's greenhouse and should be out on Friday, weather permitting.  In case it isn't hot this weekend we have a Sunday evening wine tasting and dinner, an all weather affair and, of course, great value! News from South Africa where Hayley has passed her game warden's course, despite a few mishaps with Rhino's and snakes.  She hasn't got much access to e-mail so news is sparce but she seems to be doing very well, misses everyone and sends her love to you all except Mr Pervy and Terry!

This time of year is great for Golf, especially at Woking so why not join us for the golf day on Wednesday 4th June? Breakfast, 18 holes of golf followed by lunch back at The Inn for £95.00.  Please call us and book your place - maximum of 24 players, so be quick!

Wednesday June 25th should be the height of Summer so we are having a Rosé wine tasting dinner with some super Summer wines and fab food. £55.00 per person including all food and wine - please call and book a table.

Following our successful trip to Bordeaux last year we will be showing some superb wines from the region with food to match on Thursday July 31st. Haut Brion and Palmer will be stars of the show as well as Chateau Bauduc and other great wines.  The wines are being sponsored heavily so we are able to offer places at this dinner for just £75.00 per person.

A couple of weeks later I have given Lee Carte Blanche to produce a special Summer menu for me to try and produce wines to match. August the 14th is a Thursday and should be a great evening to see what is going on in the kitchen here at The Inn - £49.50 to include all food and wine. Lee has also suggested that we have a curry Sunday night but has asked me to ask you if it is something YOU would fancy?  Maybe something to do in October, or would you like it sooner?  Feedback on this or any other ideas you may have please.

So that is what is going on at The Inn.  There is of course the usual good food and wine, landlord baiting and customer abuse, staff selection and training and supplier squeezing and beating. It is certainly an interesting time with flour and rice doubling in price round the world, the chancellor thinking he can squeeze us tipplers 'till the glasses break and Obama trying to ensure that it's not only Monica who will go down in history! It's all here, we are a microcosm of social and world affairs, heated debate and deep discussion and we love to share it with you - see you here.
