Evening all!
It is warming up for a good weekend and Una is looking forward to a great celebration of her 80th birthday on Saturday lunchtime. Una? You don't know the Mother in law? Best mother in law a boy could have and definitely up for a party. Bob Webb and co playing, wood oven cooking and all that jazz.
Still, that isn't why I called. I have just been talking to Dan, the wine shop manager, and he has decided to open up a few of bottles for anyone who is thinking they might need some wine for the weekend (...anything for the weekend, sir?). Muga Rose, a sparkling Rose, an Alvarino and a beautiful Douro white; could be just the thing for what looks like being a warm and fun weekend. We still have two great value Riojas available, though not much of the Tempranillo joven left at £65 for twelve, and we have Vilmart NV available for a short while at £125 for six, really rock bottom price.
Here at The Inn we are looking forward to Lee making an honest woman of Kate on Sunday and, at last, taking on the mantel of a married man. In has absence the boys will be putting on a new menu for you to enjoy in the later part of this glorious Summer. However, thanks to Nicky we would also like you to have your say and enter our competition for our August Dish of the Month. Whatever you would like to see on our menu please send to us here under the heading Dish of the Month with what it is called, the list of ingredients for four people, the method and how it is presented and Lee and the boys will choose the one they like the look of best and invite you in to help finalise it for a reaturant service and help serve it. You will also win a meal for two at The Inn and be involved with customer reactions to it and, who knows, it may become an Inn favourite. Please send your e-mail with subject lable of Dish of the Month.
Finally on this short note, don't forget quiz night on July 3rd - come on down with your team and quiz while you dine.
Best Wishes
Gerry, Ann and all the Gang at The Inn @ West End
PS Sunny is very well thanks and really likes his guard dogs kennel.
