Greetings from West End where we have been enjoying the glorious weather and al fresco dining.
What a wonderful weekend to enjoy, probably better than most of the Summer. There's partridge and venison on the menu yet it feels like it should be Salmon with asparagus followed by strawberries and cream! Anyway, knowing how much you all like fresh fish, we are trialling a wet fish stall once a week at The Inn and the first occasion will be tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday 4th October) between 1.30 and about 5 in the afternoon. Andy Johnson, from Portsmouth, has a great mobile counter, which some of you will have seen at the Ag and Hort show, so why not come down for a bite to eat and then take some lovely fresh fish home for tea? You could call in at the wine shop and get some intersting Godello or Albarino to drink with it too. Wines @ West End continues to build up very well and we are having another wine tasting supper on Sunday October 23rd to help you with what we expect to be a slightly more wintry selection of wines for these long nights. Two courses and six wines for just £29.95 is such good value that you really should get a few friends together and book a table. I know you will not want to think about Christmas and New Year but as we have taken some bookings already, please do think about The Inn for your celebrations and get your booking in early. We have held New Years Eve prices at the same level as last year, despite VAT increases, and we expect it to sell out, so make sure you book early. Finally, we are no longer taking Taste card bookings but are starting our very own dining club in the next couple of weeks, so please lok out for the joining forms next time you dine. We look forward to seeing you, Best Wishes
