Monday morning and once again I was led everso slightly astray by Richard Belcher, although I suspect he would claim otherwise, over the weekend. However, it was a great weekend with the highlight being a Ferrari club breakfast meeting at the pub. With some 24 Ferraris on the grid, the car park was definitely more valuable than the pub itself and turned a few heads of passing car drivers. Owen and Sarah were taking their clients down to Goodwood and The Inn was a good place for refreshment and use of facilities – brilliant.

On Saturday the Share Club had one of their twice a year jollies, this time to Hungerford and then Marco Pierre White’s The Yew Tree at Highclere near Newbury. Great lunch and banter helped by the fact that yours truly won the sweep and had also put a tenner each way on the same horse – almost paid for the day out.

Alan has been on form and put a little roof over our fuel store which will be useful now that we have found a good supply of kiln dried wood. Fab stuff which works well on the wood oven and gets it up to temperature in under an hour and also good on the open fire.  He was rather concerned that someone had lost the Grand Prix pick list but fortunately the lovely Lisa found it on the back of the bar door in amongst all the other bits and pieces. What would we do without Lisa?

Vicky brought in some great Pics of woodmice that she managed to take, really cute animals and amazing pictures. She got a bit confused when I asked her what film she had used, until she remembered it is a digital camera!

Finally Lee is back from Paternity leave in great form and having suddenly arrived in adult responsibility mode. All is well with Kate and little Jake, who is apparently the best child in the world. Lee is hoping to start regular trials of the wood oven, starting next weekend, so watch this space.
